Singing to the Lord
Ephesians 5:19

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

The Music Ministry

Music is an important part of the Believer's life. The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians, tells us that we should sing and make melody in our hearts to the Lord. In fact, music is only 5% learned, which means that God put music in all of us.

Music affects all aspects of our lives. Music can cheer us or depress us. It can cause us to reflect. This means that as Believer's, we must have the right kind of music.

The music at Cozaddale is conservative. We stay away from music with rhythms that produce a physical reaction. The music we sing has a balance of doctrine and understanding. Our music is not stuffy, but fresh.

During our congregational singing, we sing hymns and choruses. Our choir and any specials sing Christ-honoring music. There is not one particular style of music that we use for everything, but any music we use should bring glory to God.

We do not believe in bringing the world's music into our services. By the world's music, we mean rock, jazz, and any other similar music. Music can set the tone for the service and the preaching. We do not want our music to greive the Holy Spirit and thereby limit how He can speak to us during the preaching.

While music is important to us as a church, we do not let it take the place of preaching. God chose the foolishness of preaching to convict sinners and edify saints.
