Cozaddale Baptist Temple members witness & share their stories with the world.

February 13 – Dale Sweetland

Long overdue making an entry. Have sent devotional booklet “Call to Glory” each month to my family. I hope they are reading it and being blessed. I continue to pray for them. There are many needs and challenges in their household.

I was asked by a lady recently about where she could get a small Bible and audio Bible. I checked our bookstore but knew it was more than she wanted to pay. I found an online source but she had already received one from the Gideon’s Society who give out free Bibles. I asked her if it was a King James Version and she said it was.

The small Bible will fit into her toolbox, allowing her to read it whenever she has an opportunity. It was nice to fellowship with her and to know there is another Christian in the workplace.

She said she has been harassed and troubled by some in the shop, so join me as I pray she remains a good testimony to those “bad actors”. As the Bible says, “such were some of you.”

November 15 – Sandy Campbell

It’s been awhile since I input any witnessing events, but I have continued to pass out tracts and talk to clerks, tellers, waitresses, etc.
One Thursday afternoon a couple of months ago, I noticed an elderly lady reading. She continually came into the shop and she was always reading a small booklet. I talked to her about it and found out it was a “John & Romans” that she had had for several years. She indicated that she would like a newer one since several pages in hers were so worn from use that she couldn’t read them. I gave her one of our Church’s “John & Romans” and she was thrilled. Please pray for health reasons for Vernell – a truly joyful lady to talk to about our Lord.
Also, continue to pray for my family – I will be with my sister’s family for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Pray for me as I attempt to be a withness for our Lord as he presents the opportunity.

June 27 – Sandy Campbell

This past Saturday, I attended a graduation open house for my great-niece (my youngest brother’s granddaughter). While there I met two wonderful ladies, Miss Kim and Miss Wanda. We congregated to one another and began a very wonderful discussion. I was blessed by our conversation and I pray they also received a blessing. Please pray for God’s guidance in my life & also pray for guidance for Wanda and Kim.

I received a special blessing from Pastor’s messages both Sunday morning and Sunday night. I pray that I do not limit God in my life by my lack of faith.

I mailed a copy of the devotional booklet “Call To Glory” June 2011 to my mother’s house along with a tract.

Pray that the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit through the Word of God will use the booklet and tract to bless and help my mother, two sisters, brother and nephew. Their needs are spiritual, emotional & physical.

I have had no response from the household but continue to pray God will bless and use His word.

May 24 – Dale Sweetland

Around May 7th I mailed a copy of the devotional booklet “Call To Glory” May 2011 to my mother’s house along with a tract. As I’ve read the booklet this month I’ve noticed there have been several very good salvation messages and other spiritual helps available.

Pray that the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit through the Word of God will use the booklet and tract to bless and help my mother, two sisters, brother and nephew. There is a lot of tension and difficulty within the household. Among their needs are spiritual, emotional & physical.

Please continue to pray for my friend, Bob and his wife, Pam. I was able to talk to Bob yesterday and then again today. He accepted the John & Romans and the study guide. He had told me previously that in his reading of the Bible, he found Romans boring. I, of course, found this very upsetting.
I quoted several passages to him and he said he would re-read and he would do the study guide.

I have been attempting to get in touch with Maressa, the young mother that Cortnie Davis and I talked to during our visitation on 4-17-11. She seems to be having a problem with her voice mail and I haven’t been able to leave a message. Well, today, praise the Lord, after I hung up – not being able to leave a message, she returned my call. She said she is very busy with work and the kids. She didn’t have any questions for me, but she said she would call me back. She indicated she may be interested in visiting our church and she would let me know. Pray for Maressa, her husband, Jordan, and their two children, Aubrey and JP.

May 11 – Pastor Travis Burke

For many years now I have been praying and trying to witness to my neighbor, Harry. Harry’s wife died last year and he has since been moved to his daughter’s home in Milford. Yesterday, I was able to talk with his daughter Jill who lives 2 houses down from us. After a long conversation, she took a tract and my phone number with a promise to call if she had questions. Please pray for Jill and the now opened door we have with her in witnessing.

May 7 – Sandy Campbell

This morning I picked up my cousin, Etta, and her older son, James.to take them to the grocery store. She is disabled and not very healthy and James, although he is in his late 30′s, is mentally many years younger. I have been talking to her and giving her tracks at different times. This morning she accepted the John & Romans and the study guide. She promised she & James would read and she said she would then pass it on to her younger son, Ralph, & daughter- in- law, Sarah. Pray for this family and me as I continue to work with them.

May 5 – Pastor Travis Burke

We had 20 go out soul winning this week. I had with me one of my favorite visitation partners, Alex. Alex and I went to many doors and was able to leave a witness with many. I ask you to pray for one who would not allow us to witness. When we drove up, I noticed not just Catholic evidence, but idols set up in the yard which were obviously prayed to and worshiped. It broke our hearts. As we knocked on his door, he rebuked us and refused to open the door and allow us to speak. Rather, he ordered us to leave his property. It broke our hearts to see a man so blinded by the Devil. His only words to us repeated were “Leave, I am Roman Catholic! Leave, I am Roman Catholic!” Please pray for him that he would realize the error of his idolatrous ways. He needs to be saved.

April 30 – Pastor Rick Sallee

Please be in prayer for a man named Travis that we meet this week. He is curious about church and salvation. We spent a good portion of the day talking about the Word of God and the plan of salvation. He took a copy of John and Romans with a study guide on salvation and promised to work through the study guide. Pray that his eyes and heart are opened and that he and his family get saved.

April 20 – Sandy Campbell

Monday night Courtney Davis and I went on visitation. We talked to several people with good response and we were able to leave several John & Romans, study guides and tracts. Please pray for a man named James and another named Jeremy. Both took the John & Romans, study guide and tract and are open to men from the church coming to talk with them. Jeremy even mentioned he may visit our church.

Also, pray for a Maressa, a mother of 2 small children. She indicated she was Catholic but she took our literature and said she would be willing to have us come back to talk again. She indicated she was interesting in visiting our church.

We had a wonderful time and had some fantastic experiences talking to these & others.

April 20 – Pastor Travis Burke

What a wonderful time we had on visitation on Monday. Over 40 of our members came out to go door to door in sharing the Gospel. My group had many good visits. Please pray for a man named Jim who promised to consider having us come back by and do a Bible study with him.

April 7 – Scott Mullis

When we took the Kassners home I had the opportunity to speak with a nurse named Angie. Brother Kassner had invited her to church earlier in the day. She had some church experience as a young girl and she got out at about age 16. She seems to be looking for real Christian people. She talked about her experience being people who preach one thing on Sunday but don’t live it during the week. I told her I would pray she could get past all that and get her eyes on the LORD and invited her to come to visit Cozaddale Baptist…we aren’t perfect but our church is serious about honoring GOD all week. She said she just needed to get past herself.

I told her I would pray for her and hoped she would come soon. Her name is Angie…please pray for her.

April 5 – Pastor Travis Burke

Today I went by the home of Will (a relative of a church member) and spoke to him about his salvation and need to get into church. He told me he was too busy to come to church or speak of things right then. I asked him to consider allowing me to come to his house once a week for a few weeks to discuss the Bible. He said he would consider it. Please pray the Lord softens his heart and gives me wisdom as to when to speak to him again soon.

Please pray for several tracts left in homes last week as well as those left with waitresses and cashiers. Also pray for Keith who claims salvation but isn’t attending church. There are several who have promised, but as yet have not fulfilled that promise. Continue to pray for young Christians who are facing difficult times that they would remain faithful.

April 3 – Sandy Campbell

I was talking to my friend, Bob, a few weeks ago. He asked me this question “What would you ask God if he walked in the room?”

I said I would ask Him why he loved me so much as to send his only begotten Son to die for me?

After this past Thursday night’s prayer meeting, I emailed Bob with the following information: In our mid-week services on Thursday nights, we are studying through the Psalms. This past Thursday, we were studying Psalm 116. Verse 1 states “I love the LORD,…” We talked about there being million and millions of reasons why we love the LORD, but Pastor Burke asked “Why does God love us.”

This made me remember our conversation. Pastor referred us to Deuteronomy 7: 7-8.

verse 7: “The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people …”

verse 8: “But because the LORD loved you, …”

So the answer to my question is simply because he loved me.

I continue to talk to Bob and quote the King James Bible; and he listens and seems to be interested in talking; but he continues to use a corrupt version of the Bible. Pray that my life and my witnessing may be helpful instruments which through the Holy Spirit will open Bob’s eyes to the truth.
